The Genealogy of the Brennans, Cassidys and Associated Families

Cead Mile Failte

This website is dedicated to the continued genealogical research of the Brennans, Cassidys and associated families. My father's family the Cassidys came originally from County Fermanagh, Ireland but migrated to Glasgow, Scotland in the late 1830's. His mother's maiden name was Finnigan and her family were from Counties, Down, Armagh and Dublin. My mother's family came from Galway, Tipperary and Offaly, eventually putting down roots in Glasgow in the early 1900's. My husband's family have very strong Ulster roots, his ancestors came from Counties Down, Antrim, Armagh, Monaghan, Derry and Cavan. His 2x great grandfather James Brennan was born in Carlisle, Cumberland, but migrated back to Ireland in the late 1850's with his wife and children. Among our ancestors we have farmers, soldiers, tradesmen, artisans, teachers, grocers, publicans, hawkers an architect and a comedian/actor who owned a very successful theatre company.
