  • Notes
    • Bill was a soldier during the first world war and was decorated for bravery for rescuing an officer from no man's land.
He never married and was an eccentric character who liked to collect antiques. While visiting his brothers in Glasgow he would browse the flea markets and would often return home to Ireland with all sorts of oddities dear heads stuffed sharks etc.
He was a keen amateur photographer and took many pictures of his native Borrisokane. He lived with his brother Tom and the two were often heard quarrelling by the neighbours as Tom was a former IRA man and of course Bill was a retired British Army soldier. The rows would often end with Tom accusing Bill of taking the Kings shilling.[CASSID~2.FTW]
